THE SELF-HARVEST GARDEN

Fresh, organic, and seasonal vegetables await you in our garden. Diverse, colorful, and full of flavor. But it’s not just the vegetable patch that has a lot to offer: there is plenty to discover around the garden. From cheerfully waddling ducks and clucking chickens to magnificent flowers, rare ProSpecieRara varieties, and aromatic strawberries. Throughout the subscription season, you can harvest around 50 different vegetables, salads, herbs, and edible flowers. A paradise full of colors and aromas where the soul can find peace. A place to experience and relax.

This is a pick-your-own garden. We do not deliver to your home. We will keep you regularly informed about which vegetables are currently ready to harvest via our garden chat and a notice board on site. Don’t worry: there will be enough for everyone!

We plant, sow, water, and weed for you. All that’s left for you to do is the best part: harvesting.

You harvest your own vegetables whenever it suits you. And you’re not alone. We support you with up-to-date information, harvesting tips, and the necessary infrastructure on site. So you can enjoy your own vegetable experience. Right in the garden, fresh from the patch, and tailored to your individual taste.

In spring, you can enjoy crisp salads and tangy radishes, while in summer, basil and dill fill the air with their fragrance and sweet and sour tomatoes bring sunshine to your plate. And when autumn arrives, Brussels sprouts, kale, and pumpkins are waiting to be harvested. Let yourself be surprised and experience the seasons in a particularly enjoyable and immediate way.

#regional, #fair, #solidarity-based-agriculture

SOLIDARITY

We produce our vegetables for the region: right here in the canton of Zug. We put our heart and soul into ensuring that the beds produce a bountiful harvest throughout the season. But sometimes the weather has other plans. It can happen that the harvest is a little sparse in spring, while in summer and fall the abundance is hard to beat. And in the worst case, a season can be marked by rain and hail.

We share this risk with our subscribers. Solidarity is a central part of our concept. It enables us to keep our promise: healthy vegetables and natural, sustainable agriculture. For us, solidarity also means that our subscribers are an active part of Grüezi Garte. Together, we enjoy the garden, exchange ideas, and welcome your direct feedback, ideas, and requests.

OUR GROWING

Our organic vegetables are grown using market gardening methods (large Swiss farm gardens with intensive, resource-saving vegetable production involving a lot of manual labor and small, mechanical, soil-conserving machines). We incorporate permaculture methods and principles into our work. For example, we collect rainwater in an old feed silo, mulch with sheep’s wool, sow flower strips for insects, and recycle our own “plant waste.” The soil is the foundation for our healthy and nutritious vegetables. We invest a lot of time and money in caring for and understanding it, and we only fertilize it with high-quality compost from Verora. We try to source our materials and infrastructure locally and question them critically. Our seeds and seedlings come from Switzerland and are organic. These include old, rare ProSpecieRara varieties.
